A foreign country of concern means any of the following [F.S. 288.860(1)]: The People’s Republic of China [including Hong Kong and Macau, but excluding Taiwan], the Russian Federation, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, the Republic of Cuba, the Venezuelan regime of Nicolas Maduro, the Syrian Arab Republic, or any agency or other entity under significant control of a foreign country of concern.
In this context, a political party is an organization or a combination of individuals whose aim or purpose is, or who are engaged in any activity devoted in whole or in part to, the establishment, administration, control, or acquisition of administration or control of a government of a foreign country of concern or a subdivision thereof, or the furtherance or influencing of the political or public interest, policies, or relations of a government of a foreign country of concern or a subdivision thereof.
